Two baselines eliminate false positives. One baseline asks "is this Tuesday worse than recent Tuesdays?" (weekday-matched). The other asks "is this week worse than recent weeks?" (7-day trailing). Both have to agree before flagging. This means you don't get paged on weekends because "Tuesday traffic is lower than Saturday traffic."
